The Chicago Bears, two years removed from appearing in a Super Bowl, have the makings of a team that could be dominant for a long time if they ever get their quarterback situation stabilized. And that's something Head Coach Lovie Smith has been working on correcting since he began his tenure at Solider Field. While the signal-calling duties could still fall to either Kyle Orton or Rex Grossman, the rest of the team seems to be fairly stable, especially the defense.
Led by Brian Urlacher, the Bears defense continues to strike fear in the hearts of opponents, especially when they have to play in the cold of Solider Field. Joining Urlacher are Lance Briggs, Adewale Ogunleye and Hunter Hillenmeyer. If Mike Brown can return to the field without injury, the Bears defense will be a fearsome as ever. This past offseason, the Bears have lost Cedric Benson, Muhsin Muhammad and Bernard Berrian. If they are going for the addition-by-subtraction approach, time will tell if it will work.
