Philips Arena Information

Philips Arena
1 Philips Dr. • Atlanta, GA 30303

Part of Ted Turner's entertainment empire, the Philips Arena hosts the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers and the major concerts of the moment. The $213 million domed venue opened in late 1999. The number of seats varies from 18,000 to 21,000 depending on the event, and the wide range of seating options--from luxury suites to nose bleed sections--increases the chances of getting a ticket in your price range.

Flat-screen TVs crowd the concourse with game footage, cartoons, on-line games and ads. High-tech interactive exhibits include a dunking basketball game and a hockey goalie game. In the nearly 100 luxury suites that occupy one side of the arena, choose food from upscale Atlanta restaurants like Buckhead Diner and Atlanta Fish Market. For general seating, the food options get less fancy the higher you go. Feast on the offerings at ground level--from barbecue to wraps to Chinese--if you're heading up to higher ground.

In the arena, one quadrant of the building houses the 96 suites and their 1,400 seats, along with another 2,100 club seats offering in-seat food service, convenient parking and other amenities. The rest of the arena will be for season-ticket holders and single-game purchasers. As a result, even the fans in the upper level's cheaper seats will be lower and closer to the action than they would be under a more conventional design. About 12,000 of the 20,000 seats are on the lower level.

Parking
Parking is available in the various lots around the arena including the CNN Decks and Centennial Garage located on Centennial Olympic Park Drive across from the arena. CNN Decks and Centennial Garage may also be entered from Spring Street. Accessible parking is available in both lots.

Parking is also available at the Philips Arena lot on Park Avenue West (formally Foundry Street). Take Marietta Street southbound. Turn left onto Park Avenue West. At the fork bear to the right and proceed ahead. The Philips Arena / Alright Lot is located on the left. This lot will accommodate buses and large vans.

Driving and parking are sometimes a hassle. Take MARTA to the Omni/Dome station, the first stop on the West Line after Five Points (your transfer point if coming from the North or South lines).
