Renovations to Anaheim Stadium began Oct. 1, 1996, reverting the 30-year old structure back to a baseball-only facility. On Sept. 15, 1997, the renovated stadium's new name was announced: Edison International Field of Anaheim. On Dec. 29, 2003, the Angels announced the stadium would be renamed Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Total cost for the stadium renovation was estimated at $100 million and the project was completed in time for the Anaheim Angels Opening Day, April 1, 1998.

Anaheim Stadium had been the home of the Angels since their move from Los Angeles following the 1965 season. The stadium opened April 9, 1966. The original Anaheim Stadium seated 43,204. The new Angel Stadium of Anaheim has a seating capacity of approximately 45,050 for the Anaheim Angels.

Other unique features of the new Angel Stadium of Anaheim include terraced bullpens in the outfield, widened concourses, new restroom and concession areas, a spacious and modernized press box and broadcast booths, family-oriented seating sections (The Nestle Family Zone), state-of-the-art club-level and dugout-level suites, the Pepsi Perfect Game Pavilion (a youth-oriented interactive game area) and landscaped courtyards (with statues in rememberance of Gene Autry and Michelle Carew).

In addition, the new Angel Stadium of Anaheim includes three full-service restaurants: The KnotHole Club (a sports bar located at the club level down the right field line); The Diamond Club (an upscale restaurant with outdoor seating on the field level behind home plate); and the Home Plate Club (an indoor restaurant on the club level overlooking the main entrance to the ballpark).

Weather
The temperature is normally mild year-round in Southern California. The average weather conditions are sunny and 75 degrees.

Concessions
The traditional stadium fare with a few popular local twists have done well here, and although they haven't chosen the specific concessionaires, Disney plans to expand the menus to include more diverse and international cuisine. Given that Disney's stock in trade is in striking just the right balance of nostalgia and innovation, it's a safe bet that hot dogs and peanuts will still be available.

Parking
On-site parking for 15,000 automobiles provided adequate space for the stadium when it held 64,000, and should be more than enough for the baseball-only crowds of 45,000 max. Parking has cost $6 in recent seasons. A number of nearby private lots charge about $4-$5, and many fans park on area side streets. Traffic flow is smooth in and out of the stadium; the three main entrances are off major freeways.

Take the CA-57 North exit on the Right towards Pomona Drive 0.5 miles. Merge onto CA-57 North Drive 1.2 miles. Take the Orangewood Ave exit on the Right. Drive 0.2 miles. Turn Left onto Orangewood Ave Drive 0.3 miles and enter destination on left.

From Los Angeles LAX Area:
Take 405 South Take I-405 S/CA-22 E Drive 1.9 miles. Take CA-22 East towards Garden Grove Drive 0.3 miles. Take CA-22 East towards Garden Grove/Valley View Street Drive 0.1 miles. Merge onto CA-22 East Drive 8.9 miles. Take The City Drive Exit Drive 0.2 miles. Keep Left at the fork in the ramp Turn Left on The City Drive South Drive 0.9 miles. The City Drive South becomes State College Blvd. Drive 0.7 miles. Turn Right onto E. Gene Autry Way.

From Los Angeles Downtown Area:
Take 605 South Take the CA-91 East/Artesia FWY East/CA-91 West/Artesia FWY West exit on the Right. Keep Left at the fork in the ramp Drive 0.6 miles. Merge onto CA-91 East Drive 7.2 miles. Take the I-5/Santa Ana FWY exit on the Right towards Santa Ana. Drive 0.2 miles. Merge onto I-5 South Drive 5.1 miles. Take the exit on the Right towards Anaheim Blvd/Haster St/Katella Ave Drive 0.2 miles. Turn Left onto W Freedman Way Drive 0.1 miles. Turn Right onto S Anaheim Blvd. Drive 0.2 miles. Turn Left onto E Katella Ave. Drive 1.8 miles. to your destination at 2000 Gene Autry Way.

From San Bernadino:
Take I-215 South Follow the signs to stay on I-215. I-215 South becomes CA-91 West/I-215 South, Drive 13.8 miles. Follow the signs to stay on CA-91 West Drive 10.1 miles.
