The Great American Ball Park is the home of the National League's Cincinnati Reds. The park opened on March 28, 2003 with an exhibition game with the Cleveland Indians. The first regular season game was played on March 31, 2003 with the Reds losing to the Pirates. The ceremonial first pitch was thrown by former President George H.W. Bush, who replaced his son, current President George W. Bush who was scheduled, but unable to attend.

The Great American Ball Park is named after the sponsor, the Great American Insurance Group. The Great American Ball Park is located in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio on the Ohio River between U.S. Bank Arena and the former site of the Cinergy Field.

Weather
From snow delays on Opening Day to blistering heat in August, you can expect almost anything in Cincinnati. Night games in April can be chilly, but spring and fall in the Queen City are usually very pleasant. Heat and humidity can also be oppressive in the middle of summer.

Parking
Reds fans will find roughly the same amount of downtown parking available when they head to Great American Ball Park. But don't forget your walking shoes because some of the spaces aren't as close as at Cinergy Field.

Directions

From I-75 southbound:
Take the Second Street exit on the left toward DOWNTOWN/RIVERFRONT
Stay on Second Street heading EAST, and the ballpark will be on your right

From US 50 eastbound:
Take the Second Street exit on the right toward DOWNTOWN/RIVERFRONT
Stay on Second Street heading EAST, and the ballpark will be on your right.

From I-71/I-75 northbound:
Take the Second Street exit on your right after crossing the Brent Spence Bridge
Stay on Second Street heading EAST, and the ballpark will be on your right.

From I-71 southbound:
Take the Third Street exit on the left toward DOWNTOWN/RIVERFRONT
Turn LEFT onto Walnut Street
Turn LEFT onto Second Street.

From US 50 westbound (Columbia Parkway):
Take the Sixth Street exit on the right
Turn LEFT onto Sycamore Street
Turn RIGHT onto Third Street
Turn LEFT onto WALNUT Street
Turn LEFT onto Second Street.

From I-471 northbound:
Take the Third Street exit on your right after crossing the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge
Take Third Street to Walnut Street
Turn LEFT onto Walnut Street
Turn LEFT onto Second Street.
