Steve Miller Band was formed in 1968 and released their first album shortly thereafter. Children of the Future is an album of psychedelic blues. This psychedelic blues dominated the music scene in San Francisco at this time. In 1969, Brave New World was released and it wasnt until 1973 that their next album, The Joker, was released. This album was followed by Fly like an Eagle in 1976 and Book of Dreams in 1977. These albums produced hits like Rockin Me, Take the Money and Run, Jet Airliner, and Jungle Love. In 1977 the band toured with the Eagles.

The Steve Miller Band took a break from recording and touring and didnt release their next album until 1981, Circle of Love. In 1982, Abracadabra was released and was said to be the bands last success. The band did release a series of collections, live albums, and attempted to find new style sporadically in their work, but in 1993 they gave up on producing records altogether. The band is currently touring for 2006.
