What can the Wildcats do for an encore in 2007? Considering the fact that the 2006 edition of UK Football posted a winning record and won a bowl game for the first time in 22 years, the 2007 version has the hands full if they expect to exceed last year's records. Fortunately for Head Coach Rich Brooks, he has a cupboard full of offensive talent when his Wildcats take the field.

Leading UK this season will be senior quarterback Andre Woodson. Because of last year's superb play, Woodson is on many preseason award lists for being the best quarterback in college for the 2007 season. However, the Cats have much more firepower than just Woodson. Look for the Wildcats' talented receiving group led by Keenan Burton, Dickie Lyons, Jr, and All-SEC tight end Jacob Tamme to see most of Woodson's passes, while running back Rafael Little continues his play as probably the best college running back you've never heard of. Of course, the Wildcat defense needs to improve if they want to achieve the goal of surpassing last year's record.

Success isn't something that comes naturally to the University of Kentucky football team, especially when you compare them to their basketball counterparts. But, with the available talent on the field and a steady coaching staff in place, Wildcat fans may want to get ready for a period they aren't used to when it comes to college football: a successful one.
