Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Taking over for a beloved coach is never easy but first-year coach Dino Gaudio did as good as anyone would expect him to do. Considering the fact he replaced Skip Prosser after Coach Prosser passed away, Gaudio's job was try and create a level of stability for his players and to help them cope with the loss of a coach who was highly thought of. Thankfully for Deacon fans, Gaudio has provided a great deal of stability and calming, so much so that Wake Forest is awaiting the arrival of a strong recruiting class that's expected to be on campus next season.

Unfortunately, this season will probably be something like last year's because the team is still trying to restock the roster, something that's never easy and when you consider the circumstances surrounding Wake Forest, the task is all the more challenging. However, the roster is starting to fill back up and by the time next season gets here, the Deacons will once again be a force to be reckoned with in the ACC and beyond. However, Deacon fans, there is reason to cheer this season as well:

The starting five, while not being as talented as North Carolina or Duke, does still boast some talent. The first five for Wake consists of Ishmael Smith at point guard, Harvey Hale at off-guard, L.D. Williams at the small forward position and Jamie Skeen and David Weaver manning the post. When teams go through unexpected tumultuous situations, it's important that the fanbase stays strong in their support and Wake Forest is no different.
