Virginia Tech Hokies
The biggest question on the mind of the Virginia Tech nation is can coach Seth Greenberg build off last year's unexpected success or will this season be more of a holding pattern until the recruiting class for 2008 gets to campus? Last year, the Hokies surprised a lot of people by making it to the NCAA Tournament and advancing to the second round. Inevitably, whenever a team experiences unexpected success, the fanbase is left wanting more. However, because they have to replace seven players from last year's squad, this season may not be as successful as the last.

However, there is some remaining talent on Tech's roster and they do have some newcomers that should be able to contribute right away. If Coach Greenberg can find the right rotation, Virginia Tech may be in a position to play spoiler in the ACC and beyond. Leading the way for the Hokies is point guard Hank Thorns, a senior who will be the focal point for Virginia Tech this year. Joining Thorns in the starting five is a respectable quartet of players, including Jeff Allen, A.D. Vassallo, Cheick Diakite, and Deron Washington.

If Tech's newcomers can mesh into Greenberg's system, the Hokies will have some depth and balance and should be a formidable opponent by the time conference play kicks off.
